We have the 6.8L V10 also, and it does fine
Ford still makes this engine, they just don't put it in the F250/F350 any more.
The Bosch CP4 fuel pump has had a high failure rate in every vehicle it's used in, including Audi and VW. To the point where the "authorities" took notice and started a "study" (which will probably be finished about the time Bosch replaces that fuel pump)
