Anyone Cancelling Truck Camper Trips Due to Fuel Prices?

Please, no political comments.

We have a 5,000 mile trip planned with reservations made, but we are reconsidering due to fuel prices. 60 cents per mile for diesel is pretty bad.

  • Being retired I'm going as one never can be sure how many more trips are in the cards. Probably more cooking in the camper.
  • No cancellation. Heading to the Yukon for 3 weeks. 4000+ miles round trip. 2011 F350 6.7L diesel. Not happy about the diesel fuel costs (~$8.25/US gal) in BC/YN, but would be even less happy if we didn't go. Will be fuel and food smart, and will remind ourselves at the pumps that there aren't many truck camping summers left for these 65+ year old bones.

  • Probably will be a few less miles. We don't plan that far in advance for TC trips, so we'll see.
  • Guess it depends on your financial situation.
We have our summer travels to the mid west booked and have no plans to cancel. I mean a thousand bucks won't make or break us. What happened to all the money we saved in 2020 and 2021 when fuel prices plummeted due to Covid?
    Just saying....
