You may want to check with a local gas company and see if they will test the air while the stove is on. If not, a local fire dept will do it. They love the opportunity to play with their toys. CO2 CAN make you feel ill at certain levels. It can also kill.
It does not matter what kind of gas stove or ventilation. I was in a million dollar home with viking appliances and the most powerful vent over the stove and I would feel ill as soon as the stove came on.
I feel ill around gas log fireplaces...anywhere....gas heaters, etc. So, gas is completely out for me.
