Yes much looking forward to this truck. The small diesel 1/2 ton is a nitch vehicle 5 to 10 percent of 1/2 ton market. Perfect for the buyer that tows 1/2 ton appropriate loads or puts on big miles annually. I made the switch from a car to a truck when I could get acceptable mileage. To me it sounded more appealing than keeping a new truck in the garage and commuting with an old beater econobox. It was shortly after purchase that I got the opportunity to use it to tow commercially.
Average 1/2 ton buyer will still be better served with a gasser so it’s no threat to any of the gas motors in the line up. More of a specialized tool. Same with the big diesels, no threat with inadequate suspension & power to tow multi car haulers or giant 5ers but still excellent for 30 mpg Hwy or great mileage towing a moderate camper. Straight 6 has its own appeal as well including general longevity. Thus it can be a the perfect truck for the right buyer.
