BenK If it doesn’t have a turbo brake it will be just a software change away. My 3.0 Econodiesel Ram didn’t have one. Afterward on the Ram it holds the speed to 6,000 pounds on a 6 percent grade. Bigger trailers or a steeper grade I have to supplement it with the TBC trailer brake controller or foot brake to limit speed. Still very reassuring & helpful in the moutains. In fact my original brakes went 293,000. And I’m still on my second set at 428k.
Usually I will set cruise at 55 mph at the top of a long grade. The trailer can push it up to about 60 before it pulls it back to 55 for the rest of the way down. Sorry can’t remember how much it will hold on the typical 5 percent grade. Thinking about 7K.
Your right ShinerBock it won’t have big HP to be fast. Better pick the 6.2 gasser for that.
