We are considering selling our TT and truck and buying a Motorhome. I am trying to count all the variables before we change from a TT to a Motorhome. Have any of you switched from a TT to a Motorhome then back to a TT? Thanks!Jeremiah

I'm thinking I probably will. We had Airstreams awhile then went thru the short gas, long gas, then DP Class A's.We would probably go with a 27-28' Airstream or a one slide 27-28' Holiday Rambler. 3/4 Ton gas truck.A TT and truck fit more places like older state parks and the drive train is less complicated and expensive to maintain. Better MPG than a DP and fuel costs less. No genset required to run the AC while driving. No leveling system to worry about. The downside is not having a fuel efficient, nimble toad to drive around when you get somewhere. Also less storage but we seemed to do just fine back n the Airstream days. My theory is you will always fill the available storage areas with more stuff than you reallyLess is more.

MY first three RV's were motor homes. I sold the last one in 2010 because we thought we were finished traveling. Anyway, the motor home was gone but the RV itch never left. After a year without we purchased a 2011 33ft travel trailer and realized almost immediately it was not a good fit for our way of traveling as it only had one slide & very little storage space. Our current TT is much more suited to our needs with three slides & a lot of storage. Motor Homing in my opinion is the best way to go but like everything else it has it's downsides. Gas mileage is usually terrible & mine was a diesel getting just under 8 mpg. Maintenance & repairs unless you can do them yourself will be very expensive & as the coach gets older the expenses get higher. A trailer is easier on the wallet from all aspects & a motor home is a easier way of life when it comes to setting up & breaking down. So I guess you'll have to find out for yourself which is better. We had a 32ft motorhome no slide about 6.5 mpg and now we have a 27ft tt with a slide and I think that there is more room and yes you do lose a lot of storage space but I did not know how much stuff I had and did not use it so now we think that we have only what we need and the other thing that we had to buy is tv to pull this tt but that was easy we traded our toad for this tv and now we get about 16 mpg, did we make the right decision, for us we think so and now we will be able to go more places.

I went through a bunch of TCs when I was younger. Easy to get into any place with. Went to MH while still working. Mistake for me because weekend boone docking was basically out. Went back to Small TC. loved it. Retired & went to 5ver and full timed then sold everything. bought a small TT couple of years ago. Still not a fit for us so now back in. MH. So far we're happy. There are pros and cons with any RV you buy depending on your life style at the time. Wait a couple of years. It will change.

Went from a TT to MH to 5th to TT. All have their good and bad points. What ever you want.
