Doesn't matter so much what engine is in it, most important aspect for TC is payload. Payload is going to depend on what package you get. The F150 can range from a low of 1300lbs for a Supercrew 4x4 limited, all the way up to 3100 lbs for a regular cab 4x2 with the HD Payload package, and everything in between! If you want to carry a TC, or a 5vr, the HD payload package (which is not the same as "max tow") is a REQUIREMENT. Keep equiment level to a nice XLT, and a supercab vs supercrew if you can.
With a payload in the 2500lb+ range, you could get a 8ft light weight TC, something from 4 wheel campers for example would good, and in fact I have seen these on F150s. A TC on a truck with a 1500 or 1700lb payload, not a good idea. Remember you have to subtract passenger weight and all your stuff from the payload.
