Anyone have an Outfitter Caribou Lite?

We have considered a 4 Wheel Camper, but are now seriously considering an Outfitter Caribou Lite.

In the past, we had an Caribou and liked it, but now we are going for a smaller truck and like the light weight and low profile of the Caribou Lite.

Anyone have experience with one? THANK YOU
  • I am just bumping this as we are becoming more serious and really hope someone has experience with one.

    Thanks.
  • Hi Di !

Long time no see! I was about to respond to this topic (because of our Caribou 6.5) and realized it was you. (So no point responding 'cause I don't actually have any experence with the new "Lite".)

I haven't been active on the RV.net for a long time because it was getting in the way of my RVing. But once in a blue-moon (once every other year) I look in for 'ol time's sake. Sadly, it's often because I've heard through the grapevine that some great truck camper enthusiast has passed on to that free boondocking site in the sky.

Hope you and "J" are doing well. You must be in okay health if you are thinking about getting a "Lite". That means you are still probably "married" to the TOYOTA, too (grin!).

Good to hear from you! Fortunately, John and I are still topside. :-)

We no longer have the Tundra. We had a second home in a small fishing village 500 miles down into Baja for a few years and partly for gas mileage, and partly because of some problems with the Tundra, we sold it and bought a Subaru Outback that we LOVE. Boy, does it handle well in the snow, ice, sand, etc. Unfortunately, it won't carry a camper. :-) We will keep it, but we are now living in a rural area and really need a truck of some type, so we are looking at Tacomas and possibly a new Colorado ---- we don't know.

We were considering a simple 4wd camper to go along with what ever truck we buy, and then discovered that Outfitter is now making the lite. So we are shopping!

I do hope you are well and out camping A LOT. None of us know how long we can stay topside.
