"Ultralight" is a marketing buzz word that has little to do with the actual trailer, has been my observation. I was at the show last year, and there was an "ultralight" toy hauler that "only" weighed 12,400 pounds.
My trailer is a so called ultralight, and yet it has 5/8 plywood flooring, which ain't exactly light, a six inch steel I-beam frame, outriggers placed as close as sixteen inches on center, and a couple on twenty four inch. Point is, not much of this is lightweight. About the only thing I've seen on it that was lightweight was the sticker that said it was. I took it off.....( so now it's a little lighter ).
As some others above have alluded to, when shopping, the best thing to do is wear old clothes when you go, so you can lay down under them and poke around and look at stuff.
Beware the marketing buzzwords. Be even more aware of sales dudes in plaid sport coats.....
