2007 wasn't very long ago. We have some members in our local RV club who still have trailers and motorhomes they bought new twenty years ago, using them regularly since. Makes my ten-year-old motorhome look really young.
We have one retired rancher who won't buy a RV, car or truck unless it is already five years old, often buys much older. He has three TTs he bought past the ten year mark, two are sitting on permanent locations as vacation homes and one he pulls with his twenty year old van for shorter trips. But he also still used the tractor he bought in 1950. If you do this, however, you need to be good at fixing things, maybe even fabricating improvements.
The people I know who have been trading RVs every 2-3 years, sometimes less, wer been doing it because they keep buying the wrong thing for how they will use it, sometimes because how they think they will use it is not the same as how they actually used it. One of two things happen: they find the right RV and keep it for a long time, or eventually figure out that they don't really like RVing, sell the last one, and quit.
