We moved up from a PU to our first TT in 2006, which to us was a HUGE jump in terms of towing. We bought a 24' entry level TT with no slide out and few options, because we felt that was the biggest we could afford and tow at that time. After a few years we really wanted something with a little more room and some additional options to make setup/takedown less work. Without a slide out we seemed to be constantly running into each other trying to move from one end of the unit to the other. The bunks were also very narrow and small, and our daughters were getting to be young adults.
Fortunately we kept our first TT long enough to pay it off and save up money to buy the 2014 TT with cash. We very much enjoy the new unit with much more room and options that make the experience that much better. There were also some minor issues with the 2006 TT that I had to repair and/or replace. It is nice now to not have to worry about any repairs for a while.
It actually took us quite a while to find a new unit that met all of our needs. And I wasn't going to make the change unless there was a TT out there that blew us away and made it worth while.
Now our TV is a 2002 model and has been paid off for almost a decade! It only has about 115K miles on it and still gets the job done. Some the features/options don't work anymore, but we can't see investing $30K+ in another truck right now.
