I am looking a possibly purchasing a used 09 2500hd. This was on the dash. The salesman had no idea? I have never seen one before.

It's to center your truck hitch on your rig and to tell you when you are close enough to hook up. A piece mounts to the center of the TT, and when the piece (probably diamond shaped) fills the center of the dash mount, you're there! Much like WWll aerial gun sites...
