I live about three miles from there, I’ll have to swing by.
Where was this when I bought mine?!!!!
If anyone wants this, make sure it doesn’t have the dreaded number 53 engine block casting. I was unaware of that when I bought my ultra clean low mile similar truck.
They were cast too thin and tend to crack... like mine did.
You have to replace the engine, there is no fix for this because it will just crack again next to any fix, the block is too thin.
If it is a 54, 55, 56 or (best-case) a Mexican block (Google how to tell if you need to know) then it’s an excellent truck.
Also, figure on $5000 to get the auto tranny built to bullet-proof high performance specs. The stock auto is junk, but built properly it’s better stronger and faster than the manual. After owning one with a properly built auto, I wouldn’t want the stick, and the stick trans in these trucks need a few modifications too, or they aren’t bullet proof either.
Ed’s Transmission up in Marysville knows how to set one up with all the right parts, not just do a stock (garbage) rebuild. You MUST go to the right place and not Aamco or just any trans shop.
