Now thinking about it, my present 6l has poor start below 1600 rpm as well, but once it passes 2000 it really kicks.
Maybe at the time I was spoiled with 7.3 low end torque that could pull a house on idle.
how about owning a 6.0 and a 6.7
Both carried my close to 5K Lance 1055 and towed my 7,000 pound loaded horse trailer up over mountain passes. The 6.0 doesn't hold a candle to the 6.7 under load, slow or fast, flat or steep. it is not a contest.
