Anyone regret trading up

You can probably sell it outright for a pretty decent price.
LBZ trucks are a hot commodity.

How many miles are on it? Is it lifted? What color is it?

I sure miss the one I have, but I hated the payments and no longer needed a pair of silver birch metallic Duramax crew cab trucks in my driveway.

If I was in need of a new truck, I'd buy a 2017 (L5P) in a heartbeat, but my 09 only has 48k miles on it.

You need to trade, and I mean right now! That "tax man" needs to be traded in for one that has a clue. You can't spend money to make money. If you need to upgrade or add equipment for a business, that is one thing, but in your case there is no "need."

The engine you now have has been called the gold standard for Duramax, and I wouldn't change a thing if it is in good condition.

We have changed trucks as our needs grew but the needs sometimes grow because you think you have enough truck. Have had 1/2,3/4,and currently 3500 DRW diesel for our current fifth wheel . Our next change will be because the capacity of the newer trucks is so much greater right from the factory and we are moving to TC shortly so instead of big towing numbers I am now looking for big payload numbers , the current 3500 diesel 4x4 is a 2007 in great condition but has low payload numbers it pulls a 16k fifth wheel great but will be overloaded buy a large TC. like the original poster I lalso hate to part with my current 10 year old truck but I need more payload capacity so that's what's driving me to part with a perfectly fine 10 year old truck with about 60k on it .

Don't for DEF. My 2006 doesn't even know what DEF stands for.

Don't forget to factor in the NC property tax on that new truck every year. It will be an eye opener in that price range.

I am happy that I went from my 03 RAM to my 12 a few years ago. And I am even happier that my last payment is in the very near future. My truck is a dedicated tow vehicle, and is mostly used in the summer. It will be a long time before I trade up again. If it was a DD, I would possibly be more motivated to do it again.

Continue putting money away as if the payments never stopped. The next time you are ready to buy a vehicle, you will have cash and not pay all that interest on the loan. My last truck payment was in 1993 and my last car payment was in 2008 (due to a zero down 1.9 percent financing deal while I was banking at 4 percent).

We replaced our 2000 f350 7.3 SC with a 2015 F350 6.7 CC. No regrets at all.
The DEF isn't that big a deal.

We also are still grinning about how great the new truck is.
We still have the 2000. The 2000 has replaced our 1987 F250 as the back up truck.
We didn't need to replace the 2000. We bought it when I was 70 and can still appreciate using a very nice truck.
