Cummins recommend a TBN of 2.5 min, or 1/2 of starting TBN. Since most oils start above 5 the 1/2 of original is the standard.

I think the AMZ/OIL non LE I run in my 98 is TBN 12.
I was told by the service manager at Dave Smith Motors to run the hell out of it. I DID! On the way from Idaho to W WA I ran full throttle up the passes to 90mph and let off and geared down heading down the passes. May have helped seat things in???
