There are some things that this forum simply isn't the right place to get information on. Deletes is one of them.
Cards on the table, my truck is stock, and will stay that way. However, if you want to get feedback from people with experience on deletes, go over to a place like cumminsforum. Lots of folks over there with deletes that will tell you that it is the best thing they could have ever done to the truck.
A lot of folks over there also report head gasket failures too.
Here's a link to help the OP read about the 07.5-09 6.7 cummins. I just happened to scroll thru 5 pages and found 4 head gasket topics.
I must say that I find it funny that even when we agree, we can still disagree on the same subject.
Look, I am not saying deletes are a good idea. Personally, I think that deleting is a bad idea, but if you read up on posts by people that have done it, there are a great many that have done it and claim lower temps, higher MPG, no CELs, and no trips back to the dealer.
Will you find people with problems after doing it? Absolutely. I would dig a little deeper and see if those guys are the same ones that also tune their engines to 700 + HP. Maybe it is just me, but it seems logical if you double the HP of an engine, it might not stand up as well as it would if it was run at stock levels, or something that isn't 100% above stock.
And fish, I must say I am confused about your response here. It wasn't that long ago that you were claiming that the vast majority of hotshots running pre-DEF 6.7 CTDs were deleted. Are they all dealing with blown head gaskets as well?
