There are some things that this forum simply isn't the right place to get information on. Deletes is one of them.
Cards on the table, my truck is stock, and will stay that way. However, if you want to get feedback from people with experience on deletes, go over to a place like cumminsforum. Lots of folks over there with deletes that will tell you that it is the best thing they could have ever done to the truck.
A lot of folks over there also report head gasket failures too.
Here's a link to help the OP read about the 07.5-09 6.7 cummins. I just happened to scroll thru 5 pages and found 4 head gasket topics.
I must say that I find it funny that even when we agree, we can still disagree on the same subject.
And fish, I must say I am confused about your response here. It wasn't that long ago that you were claiming that the vast majority of hotshots running pre-DEF 6.7 CTDs were deleted. Are they all dealing with blown head gaskets as well?
Most of the hot shot 6.7 cummins powered trucks around here are deleted without a doubt. How many have had head gasket failures as a result I don't know, but I suspect with the amount of miles they put on these trucks the warranty period isn't very long. Having said that there's no denying that a deleted and/or mild tuned 6.7 has a higher head gasket failure rate per a poll I read at the cumminsforum. The amount of discussion on this topic is also an indicator in that forum that points to this trend. It's also safe to say that the 5.9 with the smaller bore which equates to more surface area for the head gaskets to seal and far less prone to failure and lacks the frequency of these discussions even with moderate tuning. To me it appears the 6.7 has less margin than the 5.9 when it comes to head gasket sealing ability.
