- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIISouth of border, north of border or right here ......doesn't change thieves
They steal to steal
Here they steal propane to cook meth and batteries for acid to make meth
The crack/crank/meth heads steal everything to use for next fix - newman_fulltimeExplorer II

since when does a thief use the door?
On the way OUT. It's easier to carry the big stuff they steal out the door rather than the window they used to break in. :)
nowonder you dont get much in your hauls chunk it out the window is much faster :S - SCVJeffExplorerOK I'll ask... How do you intend to power it?
- NRALIFRExplorerMagnetic locks that require power to stay locked would just be another parasitic drain on the battery. Most TC owners are trying to eliminate or at least minimize those.

^^^This^^^. Looking at the spec's it's only 380-430mA but that's ~0.4amps you're going to be drawing the entire time the door is locked. If you plan to be hooked up to shore power most of the time, no problem. If you boondock... - SCVJeffExplorer

that was my point. It requires constant power to remain latched. That battery isn't going to last forever.
12v battery, yes.
With the grip of any of these mag locks, a strong burgler can simply rip this thing out of the frame latched or not. The lock is going to be WAY stronger than the door and frame it's mounted in - BumpyroadExplorera bad idea before its time.
bumpy - WikelExplorer

Wouldn't think there would be a need to have it engaged while "in" or "around" the camper. - Steve_in_29ExplorerOP, do you realize 600lbs of holding force is easily overcome by a 200lb person on the end of a 3 foot crowbar?
NOTHING will keep a thief out if they decide they really want into your RV. Especially if you are not present at the time.
