Inside I used Infinity 6001 6 1/4" round coax with directional tweeter. Flush mount in the ceiling where the OEMs were. I also have a powered sub that came with the set up so the system sounds good now.
Outside I replaced the factory round speakers with PolyPlanar MA-905's. The woofer fit in the existing cutout so I didn't have to make any mods to the fiberglas sidewall to get these to fit. I also added a 200W power amp with speaker level inputs in front of this pair of speakers and they really crank the sound out now. I can run the OEM Jensen Head Unit at max volume and these speakers will crank with no distortion. It could always use some more bass, but anything with a bigger woofer has a mounting depth deeper than the wall thickness on the TT, so no go unless you are planning to box them out on the inside. Not an option for me due to where the factory mounted them.
And no, I do not use these in campgrounds....the power in the system is there for fall beach trips with nobody around.
interestingly, I find the Jensen head unit to be pretty good....although will upgrade to something better when it dies. I like that it has a 12v DVD player built in, very handy for boondocking.
