Total isolation, no humans around.Yucca marshmallow sticks.First time for everything.Mmmmmm..........Tomorrow..........later.

Have spent a many days and nights along the Apache Trail back in the 60s in my JEEP TRAIL days... A group of us would pull util trailers with all out tent camping supplies and sometimes would stay out for a few days...There are many off-shoots along the main road if you know the lay of the land there...Thanks for the memories...Roy Ken

Awesome pictures. I lived in Phoenix for a couple years, now Seattle. Miss the place, especially nights like right now, dark @5pm, cold and raining.

Very good TR, I like the fact that you make this a family event and get out there enjoying where your rig can take you. Photo #10 is than excellent one and as another poster had said save it for the next TCM contest.

Excellent report on one of my faves. The beginning of the trail also happens to be just a few miles from my new home. The trail can easily be traveled by a TC or small Class C. Several good boondocking locations along the route, too. Here's us boondocking along Fish Creek.

But I just wonder in that area how close one actually comes to that legendary Lost Dutchman Mine and of course does not know it???????

Silly question, I know. Why if we knew how close we were, it would not be lost. :B

Great trip report and photos. Brought a tear to my eye to see your son and you now that mine is grown and gone! Apache Trail is with out a doubt a premier destination especially at this time of year and spring. Thank you for a excellent report!

Passenger cars do it, great gravel road, some washboard.

We did it 13 years ago in our 25 foot class C.

How rugged is the Apache Trail? From the pictures it looks like most truck campers could do it?

Fantastic trip report!! I called on a Kodiak truck camper for sale here in south Texas couple of years ago but was too late. It sold couple days before...rare and cool TC!!
