A trailer that weighs 8000 lbs. loaded for camping and ready to go, is going to have a tongue weight (approximately 12% ±) of about 1000 lbs. You subtract the tongue weight (1000 lbs.) from your "sticker" payload weight (1399 lbs.) and that leaves 399 lbs. That 399 lbs. is what you have remaining for people and cargo in the F150. So you have to add up the weight of everyone and everything in the truck (including toolbox, firewood, and dog) to see if the number is less then 399 lbs. If so, you are ok.
