Applying WAX to TT

Hello,

I'd like to hear some ideas on HOW you applied wax to your TT??

I've heard others using a sponge mop with a Microfiber cloth wrapped around it..........

Anything will be better than up and down off a step ladder over and over again!!! :)

Probably will go with the Meguiar's M5616 Marine/RV Pure Wax

  • I do mine once a year - wash and wax

I use a good paste wax that has carnuba in it.
    Either Maguairs or Mothers.
I do a small section at a time, and yes it is up and down the step ladder for me.

It is well worth it as far as I am concerned even though between conditioning the roof, washing and waxing it take two days.

After all it is our home away from home. We snowbird in it for four months every winter

  • I use an RV Detailer... he does all the work and I pay him. Takes him and his wife 4 hours to wash and wax.

I do this every two years and spend $300. Between waxes all I need to do is rinse off the trailer and it looks as good as new. If it gets dirty like from travel in the rain, I use a long handled soft brush attached to my hose to loosen the dirt.
  • Meguiars makes quality products. Personally I prefer paste wax. I think it would be more work trying to apply and buff out wax with the setup you are thinking about.
  • Nothing less that a lot of hand work will do. An orbital buffer really helps, but again that still takes effort to do a quality job. And there is no reason to try a slip shod job when sometime in the future it will come back to bite you in the butt.
