I could give a darn about these stats. I would put my Cummins powered Dodge against any engine Ford could dream up. Heck,,, Dodge forced Ford to strap a larger turbo on the F-450 after the Ram 3500 out towed it... Now that is funny. Ford would not even put the 2014 F-350 against the Tow beast 3500 Ram...... Cummins can't be beat... even with two fewer cylinders..
To me performance is the key thing here, and having the new 2014 cummins pretty impressive truck. Drove all three . Test drove the Ram last, really had no intentions of buying a Ram just wanted to give them a try. Had the Chev 3500 LTZ all but bought, just waiting for them to find the exact truck I wanted, price already agreed on, that changed in a hurry as soon as I was a block down the road in the Ram, I forgot all about that LTZ.
My point about all this is they were all nice trucks, I traded in a 99 7.3 ford that I owned for nearly 16 years, and arguably the best truck Ford has built. Ford diesels have not had such a stellar reputation since the 7.3, but as many say they keep selling them, but not to this guy. Just wondering out loud here, how those Ford numbers are going to be affected as time goes on with the new Ram coming on pretty strong. Ram will probably never out sell Ford, but Ford or GM sure as heck doesn't have anything over as far as I can see on the new Rams. Ford selling more trucks did nothing for me on my decision . Just wondering how many folks are buying the new Fords thinking they are the best because they sell more trucks, what a foolish thought if that is what is happening . I bought the Ram because I liked it the best, time will tell if it was the best choice, or for that matter as good a choice as any.
