Great argument...
When you consider comparably priced and equipped hamburgers, sales show that McDonalds is the best hamburger.
When you consider comparably priced and equipped pickup trucks, sales show that Ford is the best truck.
We aren't comparing a $20,000 Ford to a $60,000 GM or Ram product... these stats are comparing relatively equal trucks. The Ford costs roughly as much as GM/Ram/Nissan/Toyota. Given equal costs, the majority of truck buyers purchased a Ford
Obviously the Mercedes S63 is a vastly superior car to the Ford Fusion. Your McDonalds hamburger comment is better suited to when people say the Focus is a better car because it outsells the S63. Until then, your comment holds little weight.
Using your logic the 6.0 diesel must be the BEST diesel engine of all time! After all, they were about the same price as a Dmax or Cummins but they sold WAY more of them.
Yep, they must be a great engine because they sold great! :R - catfishmontanaExplorer

Are you including the 8-10yrs where they didn't exist?:B
Or that the Mustang outperforms the Camaro. They must sell a lot of V6 Camaros to high school girls. - goducks10Explorer

You mean the Ford/Navastar 6.0 wasn't the best diesel engine ever made??
Every diesel mechanic I have talked to said they were the best thing that came a long.
Just talk to the folks at De-Stroked, best diesel ever! - cummins2014Explorer

I could give a darn about these stats. I would put my Cummins powered Dodge against any engine Ford could dream up. Heck,,, Dodge forced Ford to strap a larger turbo on the F-450 after the Ram 3500 out towed it... Now that is funny. Ford would not even put the 2014 F-350 against the Tow beast 3500 Ram...... Cummins can't be beat... even with two fewer cylinders..
To me performance is the key thing here, and having the new 2014 cummins pretty impressive truck. Drove all three . Test drove the Ram last, really had no intentions of buying a Ram just wanted to give them a try. Had the Chev 3500 LTZ all but bought, just waiting for them to find the exact truck I wanted, price already agreed on, that changed in a hurry as soon as I was a block down the road in the Ram, I forgot all about that LTZ.
My point about all this is they were all nice trucks, I traded in a 99 7.3 ford that I owned for nearly 16 years, and arguably the best truck Ford has built. Ford diesels have not had such a stellar reputation since the 7.3, but as many say they keep selling them, but not to this guy. Just wondering out loud here, how those Ford numbers are going to be affected as time goes on with the new Ram coming on pretty strong. Ram will probably never out sell Ford, but Ford or GM sure as heck doesn't have anything over as far as I can see on the new Rams. Ford selling more trucks did nothing for me on my decision . Just wondering how many folks are buying the new Fords thinking they are the best because they sell more trucks, what a foolish thought if that is what is happening . I bought the Ram because I liked it the best, time will tell if it was the best choice, or for that matter as good a choice as any. - mich800ExplorerThat McDonalds thing is pretty clever. I think that is the first time I read that on this forum. So continuing with the analogy:
1. Ford is to McDonald's hamburgers. They sell the most but are they the best?
2. Ram is to Spam. Actually pretty good engine but wrapped up in a throw away package.
3. GM is to Cheese. Because the government had to give them away.
4. Toyota is to Taco Bell. Delicious but watch out for that unintended acceleration if you know what I mean. - e-lightExplorer

Congrats, my friend has a 2010 SS in black. He likes his. We take our cars to "Mexico" occasionally and open them up.
