There's a recall for rear ends in that very same year model.
"Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced today that it will recall more than 250,000 Dodge Ram 1500 pickups in the U.S. for a problem that can cause the rear axle to lock up at speed. The issue is limited to model year 2005 trucks built between January 2004 and August 2005. The problem stems from a rear-axle pinion nut that can work its way loose, potentially causing the rear axle to lock up without warning. FCA reports that three accidents and one injury are potentially related to the issue. NHTSA launched an investigation in June after receiving 15 incident complaints, seven of which happened at highway speeds with no prior warning of impending issues."
