Are these items essential?

I would say yes. My Surge Protector shut off power to my coach 3 times in one night last week and I needed my 50/30 adapter twice on the same trip. I always use a water pressure regulator.

Essential? No. But desirable, yes.

A lot of people do without some of them and then there's a lot of people who wished they had used them. #3 is cheap - if you don't have one, you're got going to get electrical power in some RV parks, but again, not essential, you can do without AC for a night or two. We have all three.
