- Habemus_QuattroExplorerPerhaps an odd question, but where does one find these batteries in Costco? I don't recall seeing them by the other automotive products.
- Blazing_ZippersExplorer IIYEP, they're the ones. We bought ours in 2010 and they have done a good job. This year, I finally brought them inside for the first time due to the cold in Coeur d Alene. They haven't dropped a bit of voltage all winter.
As far as them being taller, I just used the regular battery boxes and covers. The covers sit on the top of the battery and unless you get down on your knees, you can't tell I'm to cheap to buy the correct size box. - westendExplorer

Yes, usually acceptable as long as they are lead acid batteries.
Can I bring in two random 12v batteries for the core fee?
Note to cheapskates like myself: These big box stores keep their core exchange price low. At my local Sams Club, it is $5. I can reap $10 or more at the salvage yard for batteries. The difference in prices will get me a happy meal at McD's.:B (I'm actually bringing in more stuff so it's worth the effort, lol). - OregonTRX4ExplorerCan I bring in two random 12v batteries for the core fee?

Anything special? I will be using solar on them daily and occasional generator. I dont plan on running them down too low. - APTExplorerThat's what I got. No regrets!
- RoyBExplorer IIIYes these are the ones - Look to see if they have the slightly larger AH rating for just a few $$ more. These appear to be only the 208AH rating models. The nicer ones will be 220-225AH rating and more like the TROJAN T105 batteries. Two of these 208AH COSTCO 6VDC batteries in series will give you 208AH capacity at 12VDC. Two groups of the 6VDC batteries in parallel will give you 416AH battery capacity at 12VDC.
I too would rather have the TROJAN T105's but they cost in the neighborhood of $150 each so you can see the savings here.
Also I have had good luck just bringing in any dead battery I can find to use for the CORE fee. Most of the time they don't even look at the CORE batteries.
I will be replacing my battery bank with new batteries soon. My original 2008 GP24 standard issue Interstate 85AH batteries are really pushing their life span now. I really want to get the Trojan T1275 150AH 12VDC batteries but they run around $200 each. Will most likely end up with two groups of two 6VDC GC2 batteries giving me around 450AHs total capacity from the two banks. Four each of the Trojan T1275s would give me around 600AH of capacity but there is a large difference in cost here between $360 for the COSTCO batteries compared to $800 for the Trojans. Is the extra 150AH capacity worth the extra $450... Probably not...

Roy ken - CotayExplorerI use two of the same ones on my HTT and soon on our new TT. Excellent battery for the price. I'd rather have a pair of T-105 Trojans but the value wasn't quite there for me.
- SinnettcExplorerI bought a pair in the Albany Costco last month. So far I'm liking them. Didn't fit so well in the space allotted on the tongue for a single 12v battery so I had to manufacture a raised mount.
If you're anywhere near Albany, Lassen RV has several new old stock double battery boxes in their attic. There was no price on them so the kid at the counter sold me one for $20!
