My son did this on one set of toyos for his pickup and saved over $40/tire over les Schwab prices on the same tire.
I will gladly pay the $40 per tire to get the Les Schwab Road Hazard to protect a $500 tire. :)
well, first the tires weren't $500 each, but in any case it's an apples to apples comparison.
that price included the road hazzard warranty from Discount/Americas tire, which having used both Les and discount road hazard, the discount road hazard is in my experience better warranty no prorate, free direct replacement, and covered anywhere in the U.S. At least when I had to use it. Try getting Les to do a replacement when there isn't a Les store around. Nada..... you gotta get to a Les store. Discount will either have a local tire store replace the tire on the spot if it is available or overnight air a tire to a tire store near you, or if next day won't work for you, and the exact tire isn't available have a local store install a suitable tire(s) for you and then when you get to a Discount location, swap them back out for the exact tire you had. Discount doesn't even need to see the tire to warranty it. They take your word for it.
Try to get Les to do that. They might have done that 10-15 years ago, but not anymore. Les Lost me as a customer when there prices went up higher than better brands, and the service just isn't there anymore.
Also Les "road hazard"is a prorated waranty, not free replacement like discount. to quote Les If your tire is damaged beyond repair due to a road hazard, we’ll refund you the remaining value of the tire, or apply this amount towards the purchase of a new tire.
so it's gonna cost you something to get a Les tire replaced under the road hazard waranty. with discount the cost is $0.
