Yep, work an out the door price, never the "this is what we can do for you" or "your monthly payment will only be..." nonsense. When I was shopping for my wifes suv they tried to add in those little charges and I just told them nope and left. A week later they called and wanted to work a better deal and they still werent where i wanted it to be. The next week(2 days before the end of the month) I ended up signing the papers and they even threw in the paint and hail protection plan for free lol
The most important thing when buying a new vehicle is not being in a hurry. Dealerships make the most money off the people who show up and impulse buy.
