We have an EC 850 and really like it. We had had several other TCs and a travel trailer. I am always amazed at how much stuff we will accumulate when storage allows and how much we can pare it down when storage is more limited (going from the TT back to a TC)
Anyway, from what I understand either one can be used while off the truck.
Both are HEAVY. With OEM tires both will put you over on rear axle rating. I have 3970# capacity tires all around plus upgraded shocks, airbags plus a BigWig sway bar and feel very comfortable driving on the highway and twisty back roads.
