Looks like they are using Dexter Axles again. I saw a Dexter owner's manual in with the stack of manuals in a new rig tonight.
The Al-KO place used to be right next door to them in LaGrande OR. Dexter bought Al-KO. Here's something bad about them, well actually,to be aware of taking delivery of any RV.
Several new owners have had their axles pumped way to full of grease. Grease seals failed and brake shoes got full of grease. I feel it's the delivery guys. They want to make sure they don't have any bearing problems, so they get around the corner and break out their grease gun and pump way to much grease in. But that is an easy thing to catch in PDI. And it could happen to any manufacture.
We got one because they have a good name and even if dealer jerks you around, In our research found out that Northwoods stands behind them.
This really surprised me. We bought used, and didn't get any warranty of any kind. We had a problem with table cushions not staying in place. We looked at several TT the same year and model. Turns out they never put on some little snaps on that are needed and needed be color coordinated. I looked on-line everywhere finally called and forwarded them a couple pic's. Northwoods sent parts, no hassle even though they could of said me to get lost.
Our trailer was a good find,(wife found it). Original owner didn't do anything with it except use a spare bedroom couple times. We had to start getting the minor bugs out of it just like a new owner would. Fixing all the minor nit-noide stuff.
I hope we never need another one, if we ever buy again it will be a Northwood product.
PM me and I'll give list of all dinky stuff we did. Also if you order new, PM me there's some upgrades that are worth the money.
Right off the bat, the Care free of AZ awning traveler model is no good. Works great when sun is directly overhead. But doesn't come down far enough like our old manual did. Looks great when dealer pushes a button and it un-folds. And he pulls down the "auto-dump" feature for rain water. But in real life not so good, except at noon.
