I appreciate your comment. In my neck of the woods, septic systems are designed for the worst case scenario based on the maximum number of occupants living there, which is determined by the number of bedrooms in your home. Since we finished our walkout basement for use as living quarters (two additional bedrooms) our system is designed for five bedrooms even though there are only three of us living there - one of whom is three. I am certain, at least in my case, that our septic system can handle the occasional influx of waste from my gray and black tanks.
