Back in the old days of camper tie downs they hooked directly to the bed top with just turnbuckles. No spring loaded stuff. They kept the camper from sliding off. In the design they also kept the camper from bouncing around very much... In all my years with campers I did not see tiedowns rip out from the camper bouncing or being shifted backwards...
The method Hjacks uses is similar... Hold the camper forward primary and not much down unless the camper raises too far.
In all my years driving campers and seeing them on the road I have never seen a camper fall off a truck from wind or bouncing excessively. And here we have 2 events in 6 mos were a camper is ejected from the truck... Weird?
Since the early 70's we have had campers... 5 total, never ripped a tiedown out. Did have a jack come loose due to rot... Friends and relatives with campers, never saw a tiedown let go like this... Weird?
