An update from 2014. My Wolf Creek 850 is a brand new 2014, and just experienced the same failure. Luckily, I noticed it in my mirror, and suffered no other damage to the camper or truck. It happened while cruising on the highway. (Not off road, etc).
THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED in 2014's!
Also, interestingly, Northwood says this is NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, as they have no way of knowing what forces were put on the tie downs. He recomended I claim in on my insurance. He also mentioned that the Arctic Foxes are NOT built this way, that they are tied down to the floor and walls.
So I guess my solution is to not buy a Wolf Creek? DISAPPOINTING!
Additional Info: My 850 is the longbed version, but I have it on a short bed '13 F-250 (a smooth ride). I have Happijac tie downs in the front, because the dealer insisted on them. However, I couldn't stomach the bumper attachments, so I added and was running Torklift tiedowns in the rear. The Happijac turnbuckles were used all the way around (Spring loaded in front, but I don't think the rears are).
