I agree, thats its pointless to argue Long bed vs Shortbed, and visible splice vs not.
FYI: Mine is a 14 LONGBED with NO VISIBLE line on the outside in the black covering. Which is why it tore/split. The True-grit (is that what its officially called?), is sliced near the back, under the wings, where the generator box would be. Both sides of the front are seamless (With the exception of the plywood underneath).
