If your tie-downs are tight enough to prevent your TC from moving, then you expect the TC to be as flexible as your truck frame. Does anyone really think their TC is as flexible as their truck frame?
From what I have seen, the typical truck pickup box is bolted to the frame with 6 (short bed) or 8 (long bed) bolts (usually 3/8" or 7/16" dia.). There is a rubber pad between the bed and frame mount. Does it not make you wonder why so many bolts are used to connect the bed to the truck with steel, and only four mounting points for a TC? I will also point out, it is very common for one or more of the bed to frame mounts to have cracks on the bed part of the mount. This is steel. Would you consider flexing as the cause of these cracks?
Is anyone of the belief extreme off road campers are mounted rigidly to the frame? I think you will not find this to be true. If something does not flex, something will break.
