mkuzmuk,
Out of curiosity, what type of terrain had you taken the camper into on previous outings prior to the failure? You mentioned you were just on the highway when it occurred. Trying to get an idea of what previous stresses that section was exposed to before letting go. This is my primary concern with my camper. How much micro-damage has to occur or currently exists in that area before a failure?
Not saying you did anything wrong, just trying to get an idea of how much, how little or how long it takes to eventually come apart. Same goes for Nolan. I'd bet anything, that it didn't just break right then. I'm sure it was progressive to get to the point of breakage. I know I've taken mine over some torquing, twisting terrain and bumps. Yeah seems fine today, but what about the next time? Not a lot of confidence.
Wayne, you said that you don't see anyone offering a "fix" to the problem. Well, most of us "thought" that we had a warranty. We shouldn't have to become engineers and redesign it. Although, I have been thinking about how to fix it myself, I'm not an engineer. But I do have a pretty decent grasp on many things mechanical. Frankly, when you buy and pay thousands of $$$ for something, you'd think that it would include not having to redesign and fabricate a better solution than the people who made it.
Is that what we've come to in this country? I DID NOT agree to 'some repair may be required--at your time and cost'.
