So from what I can gather from JIMNLIN & Frank (Slownsy) I need to have a fair idea of the total weight I'm adding to the truck, family members, accessories, full tank of gas etc. and then deduct this from the RAWR rating & that's what I have left over for payload weight on the FW.
Which means I really need to know which FW I am purchasing and know the hitch weight of that FW before purchasing truck.
For example, the hitch weight of a FW we have on our short list is the Rockwood signature ultra lite 8286ws which has a hitch weight of 1447 lbs. so the The Ram 3500 SRW has GVWRs up to 12400 lbs and 7000 RAWR. Is plenty. Even the The newer 2500 diesel trucks have GVWRs up to 10000 lbs with 6100-6200 RAWR would also be plenty.
