AUX camera input Superduty: always live, at any speed?

AUX camera input Superduty: always live, at any speed?

Hi all

I know that on the current Ford SuperDuty - above 6 mph the 360 camera system will shut off.

However I know there is an AUX camera input to the system, and if you wire a camera to it, and press the AUX button - then you can see the AUX camera.

My question is - will this AUX camera input on the SuperDuty be visible at ANY speed? So while truckin’ down the road at cruising speed....?

(or does the AUX camera input get shut off over 6 mph, just as the 360 cameras are shut off above 6 mph?)

Thanks.
  • Well I finally found plug right where you mentioned. Thanks for your help.
  • I did look under spare after taking it down. I will look again also by the bumper tomorrow
  • On my truck I have bunch of cables with end caps on them right under the bumper where 7-pin connector is.
I believe 1 is for trailer camera, but there is bigger plug there as well and no clue what for.
You can turn the cameras manually even going forward. I do it quite often maneuvering the driveway curve.
The main switch is above the screen and then you use screen touch buttons to change between cameras.
  • I haven't looked for mine but I believe it's tucked up by the spare, may be easier to drop the spare to find it.
  • I have a 2019 f350 . Where is the plug located for the auxiliary camera I am having trouble finding it.
  • I don't think that will do what you want. From what I remember it is disabled above 10k and I'm also pretty sure it only works in reverse.

I have an aftermarket nav/back-up camera system and connected the aux camera lead to a camera out the back of the TC.

I can view my aux camera at any speed.

    cool - thanks!

yeah an aftermarket system could do different things than a stock unit, for sure. Nice. :-)

  • That's a question you should send to your new truck salesman.
As far as I know Ford doesn't allow any camera operation at any speed and the hack can be bought at NAVIKS
Lot of owners interested, but haven't met 1 who dropped $550 in it yet.
