I was looking at the AeroTank website, and their "18-T" model looks promising. It is a tank that fits in the SIDE of the bed, over the wheel wells.
For under the bed, I have never heard of one you could pump out of. They're all plumbed into the truck's main fuel system. Must be a DOT regulation or something regarding that, or you'd think you'd see it once in a while.
The way the fuel line is ran on the under the bed tank it would be possible to install a 3-way valve and then be able to use that branch line to refuel your generator. The supply line from the new pump is connected into the main tank fill hose, on my truck it's easy to get to if I ever decided to tap into it.
Yeah, but that's something custom you did yourself right? If the state safety inspector knew what he was looking at it likely wouldn't pass muster...
The OP is looking at a diesel tank and that what I have, mount where the spare tire use to be. The fill tube is in the tire well and the independent pump is mounted on the frame with a output line tied into the main tank fuel fill tube. The aux. pump has a flow of about one gallon per minute.
