aux fuel tank install

Looking for a 12 volt switch to mount on dash that has a 0 to 30 minute spring loaded turn off feature. Gettin old and don't want to run my tank over by having a senior moment and forgetting to turn the pump switch off.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

  • .

I use a loud kitchen timer that beeps for a minute when time is up
so it is hard to ignore. Clips onto visor when in use. Under 10 bucks
and no wiring. Have never overfilled main tank in 13 years of use
    on 3 different trucks.

  • Time delay relays exist, its how things like your rear window defroster knows to auto shutoff after xx minutes of time on. And as long as you have the trigger power hooked to acc switched power, then you have a double setup. 1. you can activate the pump and it will turn off in xx minutes, then when you turn off the truck it will turn off the relay immediately.
  • My trailer has a KIB# DTM100 '15 Min High Side Driver'. It is about the size of a key fob and has 4 connections. I looked around on line for a couple minutes and couldn't find anything on it.

That Wolstentech link that JamesBr posted looks like it oughta work.
  • Don't worrier about a timer just hook you 12 volt switch to 12 volt key power with a light after your ball valve. 99% of the time you will be driving with it on not siting.
    Mine I fill up
open the valve drive to where every
first thing I do when get out shut the valve off
  • The fuel tank on my trailer has a 15min timer. I will look this evening and get some information off of it if I can find any. It is a momentary rocker that I assume feeds a control module. Pulse once to turn on. Pulse twice to turn it off early. I think it would be perfect for you (except for being able to adjust it).

On my dad's trucks we added a led on the dash to indicate when the transfer tank pump was on. Both of us have bathed the side of the truck in diesel before we added the light. The timer would be a lot better. Wonder why I never thought of it...
