With my 2001 Chevy 2500 Suburban 8.1L 4:10 rear axle ratio,I used to avg. 9-10 mpg round trip towing from Central Indiana to Murrells Inlet, SC which was 1600 miles. Traveling 70 mph towing our 32' Avion weighing 7600#. It had plenty of power for climbing the mountains, etc. with a 12K towing capacity. I would not trade mine for a 6.0L.
