To the OP: I usually get a little over 10 mpg empty and 8 mpg pulling my 2012 Jayco 267 BHS. Mine has the 3.73 gears. I'd pick the 8.1 over the 6.0 any day if it was for towing. The big block's torque just pulls so nicely.
well with conversion software;
8.1L = 494.29in³
496in³ = 8.1280L
