Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but can you Suburban experts estimate the empty weight of a 2001 2500 4x4 8.1 Suburban LT package (most options)? Maybe you've been to the scale recently.
I'm trying to figure out about how much payload I'll have vs. the 8600lb GVW. My '96 C2500 5.7L Suburban only weighs 6200 lb. with me in it, so I have plenty of payload for people, stuff, and tongue weight, and I have a 6000lb rear axle weight rating, so no real worry about overloading the back.
I'm guessing the newer 'Burb is more like 7k empty, and it has a 5500? rear axle weight rating, so I'll have to be more careful about loading if I get a vehicle like this.
