This is the kit I bought Click
5m 300 LED RGB+44 key remote. You can buy power adapters from here also in case you just want to plug them into the outside outlet. I also bought from a US seller so I would get them faster. There are sellers over seas that are about $10 cheaper if you're willing to wait a few weeks. I've heard mixed reviews on the effectivness of the 3m double sided tape that is on the strip already so I bought this. I also mounted the PVC junction box with this.
For the power I ran 18g wire across the top of the RV up and through the refer vent down to the back of refer and spliced into the 12v spades on the back of refer. Originally I was gonna try to use the 12v line at the awning but it ran direct to the switch in the trailer and fishing wasn't an option as the walls are foam insulated. I probably should add an in line fuse.
The lights work regardless of the awning position (in or out).
It is raining and windy so this is as far as I'm willing to open the awning right now. I will try to post pictures tonight when it gets dark if the wind cooperates.
These are able to be cut to length, my awning is 14' so I cut them and plan on installing under the step. I am going to order another control box from China for $4 so the remote works for both strips.
The LEDs come with female connections at both ends, the controllers are male which make using the left overs plug and play.
