Awning mold & mildew control

Just wanted to let it be known that last year I used 'Wet and Forget' on my awning to control the mold issues associated with the awnings. After cleaning the awning last May and then spraying it with 'Wet and Forget' I can report that it works better than expected. I stored the trailer last October and did not open it up until yesterday. The awning is as clean as it was when I rolled it up last year. If you haven't tried it I would suggest you might want to. The stuff works great!

Yep, welcome to summer in the South! :)
  • I can't see the difference - besides someone recently gave excellent advice on cleaniong an awning which was: Fully open, then spray tilex on one section the entire length, then rool it up to cover the sprayed section. continue until rolled up all the way, let sit 10 minutes, then unroll to a bright, mold, mildew stain free awning. Did this the minute I pulled it in to my driveway this weekend. Works awesome!

  • I'm also a big fan of wet & forget. It requires patience - the mold/mildew does not disappear overnight. If you are looking for an instant fix, clean it some other way and then spray down once clean to stop the mold/mildew from coming back.

As a test I sprayed part of my driveway to see if I would notice a difference - what do you think?

  • Thanks Jim. I have some at home but never thought of using it for the awning. I will have to give it a try.
