I've used the Access roll-up cover on my last three trucks (one with a fifth wheel hitch), always waterproof, inexpensive and out of the way when needed. They're not lockable, but for me that has not been a problem. The downside for you might be the firewood. They really should be fully open when traveling with a fifth wheel.
