Sure it is doable... Most anything is. But if you have a hard time, or just want to make it much easier, mount a hitch on the front of the truck.
Since I think you are talking about your normal storage place,,,, that would mean you will be doing it a lot... That makes a front mounted hitch an easy decision. IMO
