Not saying it’s reccomended, but I’ve done stupider stuff in 4wd than just backing up a small trailer. I do that whenever necessary. Sometimes rwd only don’t cut it when backing up. It won’t break if the truck is in good shape and you’re not beatin on it.
Same as dry pavement in 4wd. Not reccomended, but it happens and again, unless there’s an issue already , you can run 4wd on dry roads without catastrophic issues.
